About Us

Essie Beatrice Childers Bevel… We wanted to share a little bit about the lady who inspired our little shop! Half the county called her Mawmaw Essie, just like all of us grandkids did. She was my maternal grandmother.

The easiest way to describe her was a strong-willed independent spitfire who knew how to get anything done and always had an open door and an open kitchen. She never backed down from a challenge and would not hesitate to put anyone in their place, but boy did she love with no bounds! No one ever doubted that.

From a very young age, she was her own version of a fashion designer. She sewed her own clothes and always added a little pizazz! Her brothers (the Childers boys) were an amazing country western group, and she kept them dolled up in the best costumes for their performances! She had a love of Conway Twitty, red hair dye, lip stick, pin curls, and costume jewelry! And let’s not forget Days of Our Lives.

I have no doubt she would be thrilled to see her name on our little shop whose purpose is to help you all jazz up your wardrobe. She would most definitely be out here telling us how to do it the right way!

We will end with some words of wisdom that she lived by…. “can’t never could do nothing”
